Hey Girl, You should be studying - Hey Girl, You should be studying Ryan Gosling study

Hi all! It’s been a while since I last came out with a blog post. The last part of the semester is always the busiest, this semester even more so because I was preparing for part 1 of my Piano Teaching exam! My written exam was sandwiched in between my school finals, and on top of that the Lower Mainland got hit with a snow storm. I was one of the many that got their final exams rescheduled. I have so much to say about that but I’m not going to (at least, not here) – this post is dedicated to a new playlist!!

Since finals are still a real thing for many (such as myself), I thought I would share with you a playlist that I made. I’m not sure if this is just a me thing, but I can’t study with songs that have lyrics in them. I get too distracted and end up singing along. This becomes particularly an issue if I’m reading my textbook or my notes, and all of a sudden, media effects theory becomes Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River” – etc.

I listen to this Google Play playlist called Downtempo Instrumentals, and I have fallen in love with it! I have been listening to it so much that I have picked out my favourites and threw them together into this playlist. It’s predominantly ambient music (????) but to be really honest, I’m not sure what it is. Some of these songs have words in them, but very, very minimal, which is perfect for me! If someone can let me know, that would be cool!

Feels:

Whether you’re at home lying on your bed, kicking it at the library or bumping elbows at some hip coffee shop in Gastown, studying can be incredibly tedious. Get your caffeine fix, open those textbooks and study along with infectious beats that will keep you marching along. You will be rewarded with freedom soon enough, but who says that your study dates have to be boring and silent?

Tracks:

“Fear” | Sleeping At Last
“Awake” | Tycho
“Cirrus” | Bonobo
“Some” | Nils Frahm
“Yma” | Bazoo Bajou
“Dragonfly Across an Ancient Sky” | Helios
“This Means Something” | Hiatus
“Ghost Notes” | Hiatus
“La Femme D’Argent” | Air
“Alone in Kyoto” | Air
“Talisman” | Air
“Turtle Soup” | DJ Food
“Daydream” | Tycho
“Kong” | Bonobo

Enjoy, and happy studying! 🙂
